Blackberry Z10 apparently doing good

One week after the launch of the BlackBerry 10 OS and the first smart phone that runs on it, Thorsten Heins reports to the Associated Press that the Z10 unit sales in the UK exceeds all expectations. He is convinced that Apple, as well as producers of some of the best Android smartphones phone, should be afraid of them.

Heins said he is still waiting for the complete data and would not offer specifics on sales, but he did state that the white models are completely sold out. He also said that what particularly pleased him was that more and more British users of other operating systems are switching to BlackBerry Z10.

Heins is a little disappointed that the Z10 will to come to the U.S. market much later than others in March due to the rigid test systems by governments and networks that provide wireless phone services in the U.S.

The U.S. market is particularly important for BlackBerry (ex RIM) because their operating system with a 46 percent share in 2008 dropped to just 2 percent in 2012. Currently, the U.S. market is completely dominated by Android and iOS users. Also, to give credit to over 12,000 developers that created apps before the Z10 was launched, they receive special editions of Z10 in red. If you want to get one for yourself, you still have time. Send your app by February 28, and if approved, you will also be a proud owner of a limited edition Z10.
