From October 2012 until the end of June 2013, Google has increased the number of locations where their search infrastructure is located from less than 200 to more than 1,400, and the number of providers of Internet access has grown from just over 100 to more than 850. Search queries now go first to the regional centers, and from there to the main Google data centers.
