LG launches Optimus F devices

LG has announced that they will exhibit two devices from a new line of smartphones, the Optimus F, at the Mobile World Congress next week. These are a modem equipped models that work on the LTE mobile networks – the Optimus F5 and F7.

Optimus F5 is equipped with an IPS screen that has a diagonal of 4.3 inches (256 ppi), a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, 8 GB of memory and a microSD card slot. It also comes with a five-megapixel camera, and a 2150 mAh battery. The Optimus F7 model has a larger 4.7 inch IPS display (312 ppi), a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, and 2540 mAh battery. The camera on the F7 has a resolution of eight megapixels, and the 8 GB storage can be expanded with microSD memory cards.

Both devices will be shipped with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and will include advanced user interfaces such as QSlide (the simultaneous launch of two applications in full screen) and Live Zooming (to zoom in a specific area while watching videos), according to LG's press release.

On the European markets, the LG Optimus F5 will be available in the second quarter, and in select markets will be followed by the LG Optimus F7. Information on the exact date and pricing will be available later.
