Mobile devices with flexible screens won’t go on sale in near future. This was confirmed by J.K. Sing in an interview with the Wall Street Journal Samsung's director of mobile division, adding that the company does have an internal roadmap of development of such products.

It is exactly Samsung’s, or to be precise their department Samsung Display, that has been demonstrating for years different versions of flexible screens and their applications in various concepts of mobile devices on the technological events. Shin says that the start of sales of such devices in the global market is still far away, while the plans and details of Samsung's roadmap for this segment are not revealed.

Indications of a similar trend, despite the expectations of potential buyers, was also given by the director of Corning Glass at this year's CES, emphasizing that the benefits of the Willow flexible protective glass screens device manufacturers will start using in the next three years.

Although flexible screens offer greater resistance to various damage and the possibility of developing innovative design of mobile devices, the commercial production of such smartphones or tablets looks for similar traits from the other components too (such as batteries, PCBs, chips, and other parts), and a significant adjustment of the manufacturing processes.
