We have all heard rumors about how this or that game developer “intentionally” crippled a game on one platform or another, but in the end those usually are little more than manufacturer guerilla marketing efforts. Today though, we are hearing that a game company may have left out visual features from a new AAA title that seriously reduce the visual quality of the game played on the PC.

This morning’s news is full of posts about Google “following” Apple into the wearable fitness game. After Apple announced their Healthkit app and all that it can do Google quickly pulled the covers back on theirs. Now what all of these articles fail to mention is that other companies have been in the health game long before Apple decided to step into the waters. Nike, Polar, I’M Spa, and Even Samsung had health apps and wearables long before.
Microsoft is an odd company at times. After writing changes to their operating systems that pretty much force updates on you when you shutdown they have now started on a campaign to deny updates to you unless you apply all of the ones they want you to have. This new patch prerequisite started a couple of months ago when it was announced that Windows 8.1 users would not get any more patches until they had installed a certain platform update.

The guy that leaks Windows 8 to a French journalist is going to get a whopping three months in jail for his actions. Alex Kibkalo will also have to pay a whopping $100 fine for his actions. These actions are likely to follow him for the rest of his life and most certainly will hurt his career opportunities. Kibkalo leaked information about Windows 8 just before the launch of the OS.

Nothing makes a Friday fun like hearing about a brand new form of Malware. Well that is what we have for you on today. It seems that an RSA researcher was picking around the darker places on the Internet and stumbled upon a new bit of malware that, if real, could be a serious problem in the near future. RSA researcher Eli Marcus is calling the new malware Pandemiya and claims that it is 25,000 lines of previously unused code.
