Analysts also point out that this number could grow to 63 million pieces, depending on how much of the supplied devices are sold to end customers. The main add on to growth delivery will be Galaxy Note 2, Samsung has started selling it in September. Already in only first five weeks of the start of sales Galaxy Note 2 has sold in 3 million copies, and analysts estimate that throughout the fourth quarter will be sold around 7 million copies, compared with earlier estimates of 5 million pieces deliveried.
Galaxy S3 sales continue to be excellent and in October alone they sold more than 5.5 million units, although it was expected that sales will fall after the presentation of the iPhone 5. Overall it is expected that during the fourth quarter around 15 million Galaxy S3 phones will be sold. Samsung overtook Apple's title of the world's top smartphone maker in the first quarter this year when they sold 42.2 million units compared to Apple's 35.1 million. Looks like Apple will have to do some serious improvements if they plan to catch up.
