Retina MacBook Air should appear on the market in the third quarter of this year in the 11 and 13 inch versions. Higher resolution screens consume more energy, so along with increase of the battery capacity of MacBook Air, Apple could also benefit from Intel's Haswell processor generation.
The latter will surely be a part of the next generation Air, while Intel's claims about the low consumption of these chips could make up the difference in the autonomy of the battery due to the energy demanding Retina screen. OEM manufacturer Quanta Computer should start to receive components for the production of next-generation MacBook Air from other suppliers during the second quarter of this year.
