The MSI G-series motherboards will come with Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2205 network controller that promises lower latency in network games, advanced overclocking capabilities and special connectors for connecting peripherals. According to MSI's words, the latter refers to the PS/2 and USB connectors that should be implemented with a standard 1,000-hertz sampling (MSI Gaming Device Port), and thus we can take advantage of a shorter response time offered by today's gaming mice and keyboards. It is expected that MSI G-series motherboards will come in several packages and with support for different processors and chipsets, and will be visually recognizable in black and red color combination.

[Ed – The features that MSI are saying they are going to bring to the table have been available in past motherboard lines (including having the Killer Nic). We are not sure what they are really going to offer that will make put them in the same class as Gigabyte and Asus at this point. Their presence has not been the most standard. They also need to get over a few decisions that did not work out as well as they thought. We do hope that MSI will be bringing something really new to motherboard market, but from what we have seen over the past couple of years we think we will wait to see before we make our decision.]
