The largest manufacturer of mobile phones and smartphones, Samsung, with the launch of the devices with this new OS, will try to reduce its dependence on Google. Especially after their acquisition of Motorola, by which the search giant has enriched its patent portfolio, it has become a direct competitor to other producers. Last year Tizen Association was established, whose prominent representatives are Intel and Samsung, as well as mobile operators NTT DoCoMo and Vodafone. Intel will try to enter the market of processors for use in mobile devices through the Tizen, while the mobile operators could offer their own services, such as applications or music stores through it.
In the third quarter of 2012, Samsung delivered 57 million smartphones. Besides Tizen, the company is offering Android devices, Windows Phone and Bada OS devices.
