iPad passed by Android tablets

According to yesterday announcement from IDC's analysis, this will be the first year in which the number of tablets with Android operating system will surpass the number of Apple iPads. IDC believes that the smaller tablet size and low cost with Google's OS will win almost 49% of tablet market, while the iPad last year's 51% will drop to 46%.

Will Amazon get .book domain or not?

ICANN discusses about who to assign new management domains (a total of 1930 potential new domains are in the pool), and Amazon has applied for multiple domains, including .book. It is quite clear why this domain is of extreme importance to many, including Amazon’s rival Barnes & Noble, which reported earlier this month to ICANN, saying that Amazon should not be permitted to handle the domain.a

Company Xi3 started taking pre-order for the console named Piston, one of the first Steam Box consoles optimized for Valve’s Steam. The console's design is similar to the company's computer X7A Modular Computer and it is located in a very compact housing with a distinctive design, and the great thing is that console’s hardware can be upgraded.

If “Likes” could talk

Research conducted by Microsoft Research and the University of Cambridge has shown that the "likes" that we give to posts and articles can draw upon us the stunning amount of information and all that with a probability of 80%. Researchers managed to collect enough data to unravel the religious and ethnic background, political views, sex and many other things by using applications on Facebook like MyPersonality. According to the Wall Street Journal, the percentage of guessing the political affiliation of American respondents (ie - Democrats or Republicans) just based on their “likes” was over 85%, the race could be hit in 95% of cases, and sexual orientation in 88%.

No Firefox for iOS in the near future

Although users would like to see Mozilla and Firefox on iOS platforms, this might not happen in near future, maybe even never. The problem is Apple's insistence that other web browsers for iOS need to browse the web using Apple's UIWebView component, while Apple for their web browser saved advanced Nitro JavaScript engine.
