Android on 81.3% of mobile phones

There is no longer any doubt - Google has conquered the market of mobile phones. According to the analysis of Strategy Analytics, Android in the third quarter held a record share of 81.3% globally. On an annual basis this represents an additional growth from 75 percent share, which means there was a total of 204.4 million Ansroid based devices shipped this year.

Patent Trolling.. um Holding Company Rockstar Files Suit Against Google, Samsung, HTC, LG and others

The US Patent system is broken. The system has strayed very far from its original intent as a means to ensure that inventors were able to get a return on their work. Now a patent is something to be used to hinder the competition. Companies buy them up and stock them away in holding groups like an arsenal. It is no longer about real innovation and progress, but simply a way for large corporations to bargain and shape the market in the manner that they want. Many times we have seen a company buy up a stock of patents with the intention to attack another or even defend themselves.

badBIOS: worst Malware to date, or Social Experiment

While it is commonly understood that Malware is a major threat to anyone with a computer, tablet or phone, what is not acknowledged is that Malware is much more than that. In the late-1990s a bit or Malware was released that actually infected the basic operating system that runs every computer, the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). This bit of malware called Chernobyl was designed to wipe a systems BIOS on a preset date.

EIZO pushed out a 240Hz monitor just for gaming

The new model is designed in a classical style with sharp lines and brings a 23.5 inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with 16:9 aspect ratio and a contrast of 5000:1 with a brightness of 400 cd/m2. The response time of the display is less than 1 ms, and the viewing angle is 176 degrees both horizontally and vertically. Monitor comes with LED backlit and has a Turbo 240 technology that allows the dispay of frame rate of 240 fps.
