The NSA Wrote Many of our Modern Encrption Standards... Most With Flaws

You know, the Internet is a scary enough place with all of the Malware, scams, hackers and other crap. No one needs to be worried about the government looking over their shoulders as well. However, this is what we reminded is happening when Edward Snowden released his cache of documents to the world (through the Guardian and other news sites). We found that under the guise of protecting us from terrorism and other real and imagined threats the US government has been collecting all of our internet data for a number of years. Now this was a great surprise to many people although it should not have been.

Intel Positions Atom to Challenge ARM in the Low Power Data Center

Intel’s Atom CPU is getting a little bit of a boost in order to give it an edge in the microserver market. The new CPU is the C2000 which is something of a departure from their older Atom designs. Unlike the Atom we all know about (two cores, limited compute and memory support) the new C2000 is much beefier with 8 cores and support for 64 GB of memory. The move is something of a departure for the Atom line as some at Intel have claimed that adding more cores to a CPU is only needed if your CPU is not powerful or efficient enough.

HDMI 2.0 is here

HDMI Licensing, a limited liability company which is responsible for licensing of the HDMI technology officially unveiled the new version of the HDMI standard for the transmission of uncompressed video and audio data. New HDMI 2.0 standard comes with support for technology and market of 4K HDTV which is still in the early stages of development. It delivers bandwidth of 18 Gbps, which is enough for 4K video materials or materials 3840 x 2160 (2180p) resolution and 50/60 frames per second. It is possible to submit two different video streams on the same screen. They also added a support for wide screen 21:9 format.
