Steve Jobs' Draft Emails Play a Big Role in eBook Price Fixing Trial

judges-bench

We have been following the Apple price fixing trial over the last few weeks and have been very interested in some of the coverage that has been coming out. One of the biggest things that we have noticed is a tendency from nay press outlets to try and skirt over the issues. In particular many news sites are more than willing to completely absolve Apple of all guilt simply because the most damning emails the DoJ is using were draft emails from Steve Jobs. What is unusual about this is that many of these same sites were not willing to do the same During the Samsung V Apple trial (and also the Intel Anti-Trust case). It begs the question; why does Apple get the free pass? Still press bias or bad reporting aside the fact that these emails are drafts is really irrelevant. They show knowledge or and/or intent to set prices and force them onto a competitor.

Sony increased estimates for PS4 sales

PS4-a

It is now clear to everyone that Microsoft itself has not made any good promotion with the launch of Xbox One at E3, and many would say that they hurt themselves more with the decisions related to this console. In this sense, the Wall Street Journal believes that the increase in Sony's internal estimates of PS4 sales in the first months may be more Microsoft's fault than Sony's.

Huawei Open To Acquiring Nokia, But Windows Phone Would Have To Go

Once upon a time Nokia was a giant in the industry. They towered over everyone even Apple and held the market with their own OS Symbian for a number of years.

Unfortunately as the rest of the world broke into Android and iOS Symbian was quickly forgotten even though it is one of the founders of the smartphone era. Nokia was also no slouch at developing hardware either. They are the holders of a large number of patents (their own inventions too). Still despite all of this Nokia could not hold onto the crown. After a few years trying to make Symbian more relevant they have dropped several rungs in the ladder and now are partnered up with Microsoft as the premier partner for their Windows Phone platform.
