Facebook Has Changed Your Default Email... Without Permission or Notice

facebook_moneyWhen the movie “The Social Network” came out it depicted Mark Zuckerberg as a person with, let’s say, control issues. Both Zuckerberg and Facebook tried to play this down and say that he was and is not really like that. The problem is that time and time again the corporate personality injected into Facebook by Zuckerberg keeps rearing its massively ugly head.

More Pieces of the Facephone Puzzle Fall Into Place

Facebook-logoThere are sometimes items that show up in the market that seem to point to something on the horizon that could be quite interesting. Although when we first saw the news that Facebook had picked up another Apple employee (this time the UI designer for iWeb and Numbers) we did not think much about it. Now however, there is something else that is on the horizon and that seems to counter some information that we had before about a possible Facebook phone. This is the news that RIM might be considering selling off their handset business.

Apple Following the Rest of the Tech World With Their Products; Not the Other Way Around

steve-jobs-think-differen-maybeYou know there is nothing better than seeing a company mythology fall apart, especially if that mythology is one that has perpetuated a lie and became part of a much larger campaign intended to mislead consumers. Yes we are talking about Apple here, but you probably already knew that. The part of the mythology in question here is the falsehood that Apple has to invent everything and then the rest of the tech world copies them.

Microsoft Shows It Wants to Kill Media Center; Ends Support for TV Tuners and Remotes for In Windows 8

win8logoredesignedWe have recently be criticized for making the statement that Microsoft is attempting to force the use of cloud applications on people with their latest operating system. In Windows 8 we have seen a startling shift from the PC as a stand-alone work unit to making it more like a dumb terminal that just pulls data and software from services at Microsoft. Now, as we have mentioned before, we have built and designed cloud services and know the corporate mentality behind them.

Apple Vs. Google (Motorola) Patent Disput Thrown On Due to Common Sense

73There is rejoicing in many parts of the tech world tonight as common sense appears to have returned to at least a small portion of the legal system. On Friday (June 22 2012) Judge Richard Posner threw out a patent case between Motorola (Google) and Apple. He did not just dismiss it though; Judge Posner dismissed it with prejudice. This means that neither Apple nor Google can come back at each other for the same patents. True both have the right of appeal, but when something like this happens it is unlikely that an appeal will be granted.
