Toshiba has launched a new lineup of tablets under the name Excite. These are all Tegra 3 models and, for now, run Google’s Android 4. While everyone was unimpressed by the 10.1 tablet (its feature set is very similar to the rest of the crowd). What has really caught the eyes of the press is the rather large Excite 13 with is 13.3-inch IPS 1600x900 display. The common question is why go this large with a tablet screen?
Sins of a Solar Empire Fans rejoice. The long awaited sequel Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion will be launched on April 12th and pre-ordering begins today. The new game is the follow up to the 2008 PC Game of the year Sins of a Solar Empire and will be open for preorder from Steam, The Stardock Store and Impulse.
There is nothing like a botnet to remind us all that there is truly no such thing as a “secure” operating system. For years Apple presented the Mac as impervious to viruses and Malware. They had commercials stating “Macs do not get viruses” and continued this mythology despite many Java, Flash and other attacks that existed in the wild. The fact that many of these were centered on pirated software or required user interaction did not deter the myth. Now with Flashback things have gotten very real very quickly.

Back in the heady days of the late 80’s the gaming scene was not all that amazing. Sure you had a few notable exceptions but let’s face it, the technology was anything but stellar. I can still remember many of the 8-bit digital games that were so pixilated you would not be able to tell what many items were. Still I look back on those days with fondness and with a memory of one game that was so outrageous that I can still remember getting into trouble for playing it. Many of you might remember this one; Leisure Suit Larry in The Land of the Lounge Lizards.
