Fortune has released their new list of the top 500 global companies ordered by revenue and among the technology companies best position were occupied by Samsung and Apple, not much of a suprise.
As expected US District Judge Denise Cote found that Apple did collude with five publishers to fix eBook prices in 2010. Although it appeared to come as a shock to some it was something that many analysts saw as inevitable. Apple faced a mountain of evidence that showed Apple acting to push the new “agency” model and then establish price guides for new books. These caps on eBook prices (along with the most favored nation clause) are what allowed Hachette, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin and Simon & Schuster to move away from the $9.99 that Amazon was setting to $12.99 and $14.99.

When Don Mattrick left Microsoft for Zynga many were under the impression that Zynga must have made a pretty nice offer to lure him away from Microsoft. We are pretty sure that this is probably true, but there might be another reason that Mattrick left Microsoft as their Interactive Entertainment Business President. Back in 2010 Don Mattrick tried to get Microsoft to buy Zynga to help bolster what he saw as a big lack in social media games.
