Dropbox gets Vimeo support

droboxvimeo

Today Dropbox and Vimeo decided to team up and allow Dropbox users to directly upload their videos to Vimeo from their Dropbox folder. Besides that one very simple, but yet so often missed feature, they are also providing the ability to pause an upload in case you cannot upload it all at once. ”Integration within Dropbox is something our community wanted for a while,” said Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor, and with this collaboration they will try to give more popularity to Vimeo, an alternative to the most popular video hosting service Youtube.

New Hearthfire DLC for Skyrim Lets You Build a House...

Skyrim

DLC (Downloadable Content) is a big thing with gaming especially console gaming. It offers the possibility for expansion, new adventures and more features to make the cost of the game and console (both of which are usually locked into their original format) seem more appropriate. Some of the DLC offered is pretty impressive and gives console players features that you just do not get in the PC world. Other times things are not so impressive; this is the case with the new Hearthfire DLC for Skyrim.

Twitter stands behind its users

twitter

After a New York court decided to request account information and tweets from Occupy Wall Street protester, Malcom Harris, Twitter responded with filling an appeal. Unlike Facebook, who has been accused of giving up their users’ data to legal institutions like it was something meaningless, Twitter has decided to stand their ground and defend their users’ privacy. Harris is being prosecuted for allegations of disorderly conduct during protests on Wall Street and information on his two accounts @destructuremal and @getsworse is being asked for by the court.  For @getsworse they requested all public tweets and “[t]he following subscriber information: name; address; records of session times and durations; length of service (including creation date); types of service utilized; telephone or instrument number or any other subscriber number or identity, including any temporarily assigned network address.”

The Return of the 30-Minute Test Drive Game Review

Halo4-01

Not all that long ago and in the same spot I have been doing work for the last 10 years I developed a concept called the short attention span review. This became a stock feature at one of the sites that I used to write for. The concept was simple; take a product or software and dive into it for 20 minutes. After that time period tell if this product was able to capture someone’s attention. It was based off of research that said the average person had a 20-minute attention span when dealing with new concepts. Sounds pretty simple right?
