Making IRL money in Diablo III

diablo 3dlc

Have you ever seen the gold farmers in MMORPG’s that stand around in crowded areas advertising for gold/item buying websites? In most cases, this activity is enough of a reason to ban a player from said MMO. However, in Blizzard’s record breaking game Diablo III it’s quite the opposite. In fact, the company actually allows item trading for real life money in the games auction house, taking 15 percent for itself of course.

AMD To Drop CPUs Into Thier FirePro GPUs... Or Is That The Other Way Round?

i heart apu stacked

After the success of their consumer level APUs it looks like AMD wants to try and bring some of that to the professional world. Yes, they are going to be making something like Trinity for the workstation market. AMD is going to attempt to drop a CPU (or four) inside their FirePro GPUs to see if it sticks.  The move is almost the opposite of what you see with the APUs. In the Llano and Trinity you have a small number of GPU cores that are added into the CPU die in order to provide graphical output. These cores are very efficient and were pulled from AMD’s successful Radeon line of GPUs. In the new FirePro Processors they will maintain the full GPU (just like in a discrete card), but add in CPU cores to create a more functional whole.

Apple Expert Peter Bressler's Testiomony Starts To Cumble Under Cross Examination

judges-bench

We told you that as soon as we had access to the cross examination of Peter Bressler we would bring it to you and now we have that. It is exactly what we expected. Bressler was not thorough in his examination of Phones and picked the details he wanted to highlight while skipping over many that might counter his claims. This is despite his claims to the court that as an Industrial designer he was trained to identify the small details. Samsung’s questioning found those inconstancies and narrowed down on them quickly including one or two contradictions.

OS X Mountain Lion killing battery life?

OS X Mountain Lion killing battery life

Shortly after the newest version of Apple's OS X operating system, Mountain Lion, became available Apple's support forum became swarmed with angry users complaining about shorter battery life. The claims came in after they upgraded to Mountain Lion. The latest version of OS X  was released on  July 25th, but it didnt take long before its first flaws came to the surface. Forum thread's about this problem has reached 34,200 views and is around 40 pages long. This would seem to show that the problem is very common. User jpengland96 first reported the issue saying: “I upgraded to mountail Lion and now my battery life is about half of what it was before upgrading. Shouldn't the update improve battery life? Also, what can I do about this?”.

ARM presents next generation Mali mobie GPUs

arm

ARM has released three new multi-core GPUs that are extremely flexible which ARM hopes will find their way into a wide range of mobile devices next year. New GPUs are the Mali T624, T628 and T678, built on the ARM Midgard graphic architecture. The new Mali GPUs are supposed to be the successors to the Mali 450-MP found in Samsung Galaxy S III, and if we can trust ARM they surpass that generation quite a bit. ARM claims they will offer a performance increase of aproximately 50% over the earlier Midgard generation T604 and T658. The new Mali GPU bring support for a graphics compression codec called ASTC (Adaptive Scalable Texture Compression), which  optimizes GPU performance and increases battery life.
