Apple iMessage Outage Seems To Disprove DEA Note About Point to Point Communication

broke-apple

Apple experienced one of those things that no service provider wants to have, a multi-hour outage that affects an unknown number of users. Unfortunately this is exactly what happened to Apple today and to both iMessage and Face Time. Now these all on their own are bad and make Apple look a little foolish, but there is more to it than just the loss of text and video messaging to iPhone and iPad owners. This outage and loss of transmission capabilities also makes a recent note that was “leaked” by the DEA to cnet look a little foolish.

Chip that can detect cancer

Chip

Miniature system-on-chip called CTC-iChip System which is created by the researchers from the Massachusetts General Hospital is capable to find even a single cell of any cancer in the bloodstream from the blood test. Problem with these individual tumor cells is that sometimes just one among the billions of blood cells is may stop anywhere in the body and start to produce metastases. Using this chip doctors are able to very fast detect, because of early detection treat these cells with smaller financial backup. This should all happen prior to metastasis, and therefore make the treatment more sucessful.

Microsoft and Others Hiding Behind Fairsearch to File a Complaint Against Google in the EU

MS-Myth

Under the guise of a fair practices organization (Fairsearch Eurpoe) Microsoft, Nokia Oracle and a few others are trying to make a case against Google and Android. What is interesting is that they are using “predatory pricing” as their main argument. Microsoft is complaining (through Fairsearch) that Google is undercutting their sales by giving away their operating system and asking that companies bundle Google apps in return. Microsoft and their pals say that this gives Google an advantage over all of the other players and is an abuse of their (Google’s) dominant position in the market.
