ASUS ROG Maximus V Formula ThunderFX

Manufacturers of hardware components are not expecting a significant recovery of the PC market over the next year. Asus and Gigabyte, both leading manufacturer of motherboards, have said that in 2013 they expect an equal or slightly lower number of deliveries of motherboards than was the case this year.

Kaspersky Lab has issued an annual report for 2012. This report presents some interesting statistics about malicious software that have marked the past year. The data that was analyzed by the well-known antivirus company using KSN system in the cloud (Kaspersky Security Network) to detect and collect information about attacks, points to more interesting things.

Apple gets patent for call management

In the latest new patent that has been granted to Apple is a description of the advanced ways to manage incoming calls. The patent titled "Dynamic Context-Based Auto-Response Generation" describes methods for "smart" management of incoming calls, depending on whether we are talking with someone else or are simply unavailable.

Qualcomm Krait exclusive for high end

krait

Qualcomm intends to implement their fast Krait cores, like those in the Snapdragon S4, only to the chips for the upper segment of the market. The company will incorporate Krait core designs only inside of their quad-core SoC chips for high-end mobile devices, while the cheaper Snapdragon will be for smartphones priced below $160 and will have a reference ARM core. This has been confirmed by James Shen, one of Qualcomm's managers.

Intel Haswell CPU lineup leaked

Finally we have some insight into the new chips in Intel's Haswell line up. The Guys at the VR-Zone got a hold of the list of models whose launch is scheduled for the first half of 2013. The Haswell line of processors (Core i5 and i7) will initially consist of a total of 14 models - eight pieces will be more fuel efficient, and the rest will be "normal" processors for use in desktop computers.
