If you believe the predictions of Philip Willis and John Patterson from the University of Bath in England, the age of pixels, at least in video compression algorithms, is coming to an end. Although the basic unit of raster images that the video consists of are still pixels, it has been known for a long time that there are limitations that arise from them. For example, scaling to different, especially higher resolution, makes image quality turn to crap and increases perceptual artifacts with no gain in quality of information.
Yep, the holiday season has started and you know what that means, Steam sales! As usual they put great discounts on many games, which will change daily, while most of them will last for at least 48 hours. So prepare your credit cards, e-wallets, and let the games begin. The Snapjoy service allows users to make their photos stored on one service and device such as smartphones and computers available in other places. Specifically, this free service based on cloud technology puts together photos from Instagram, Flickr, Picassa Web albums, computer (either a PC or a Mac) and iPhone. The photos from the combined album then can be shared via email, links and social networks. Now is looks like Dropbox is taking over Snapjoy and could assimilate the service into themselves.

We now have a release "candidate recommendation" for Hypertext Markup Language 5, thus making it very clear that the development of HTML5 is coming to an end. Another important step is the issue of the first draft of the HTML5.1 standard, which is being developed in parallel with HTML5.
