Windows Phone shows signs of life

According to data collected by Kantar Worldpanel, in the second quarter of this year, the share of Windows Phone at the five largest European markets, in the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany rose from 4.7 last year to 6.9%.

Cheaper iPhone confirmed

Beside the critics about the working conditions in the Pegatron company, which is one of Apple's biggest partners which assembles their devices, looks like Apple said more than they planned in their report. Organization China Labor Watch has announced one of the most convincing evidence so far that Apple has started with the production of a cheaper version of the iPhone.

Kingston HyperX becomes a global sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters Season 8

Kingston, the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products decided to improve their sponsorship of the eSports and have become global sponsor of Intel Extreme Master for its 8 season. So far they focused more on sponsorship of organizations that have professional teams like Team SoloMid, Evil Geniuses, World Elite, Taipei Assassins and many others in games like Starcraft, DotA2, League of legends etc, but also some major eSports events like DreamHack, IGN Pro League, NASL and others.. The Intel Extreme Masters will take place in New York, Singapore, Sao Paulo and the final will be played in Poland. Kingston will be providing their memory modules for more than 120 elite pro gaming systems to meet the requirements of all professional gamers.

Zynga takes the "litigate over innovate" path; sues the makers of “bang with friends”

Yesterday we talked about how the social network gaming company Zynga was having a rough time of things. Now we are hearing that they could be pulling off a desperation move by suing another company over trademark infringement. The culprit here is the developer behind the adult app Bang with Friends (who has the same name as the app). Now, while we could see Zynga getting a little upset over the title for a few reasons not the least of which is associating this title with their kid friendly games that have the same naming scheme. However to try and claim trademark infringement because of the “with friends” part is a little much.

Zynga falling apart

Every day since Zynga, the company best known for Farmville and similar games for wasting time, put their shares on stock market last year, they kept on falling into deeper trouble every day. Stock prices are falling, earnings decline, and the company was abandoned by several key members, disgruntled by a direction in which the company is going, but also with the strict hand of Mark Pincus, founder and until recently CEO of Zynga. Pincus earlier this month stepped down from CEO position, leaving it to Don Mattrick, a former Microsoft's chief for Xbox.
