Today was a busy day at Sony; they announced new models of their old PS3 console. However, since no new console will be coming out soon they decided to boost the old model. Just to be clear, old doesn’t mean that it's bad. So users now will have a 250GB model bundled with Uncharted 3 for $270, and a 500GB model that comes with Assassin's Creed III later in October. The 250GB model will be available on September 25th. Besides the GOTY edition of Uncharted 3, buyers will also get a $30 voucher to spend on title Dust 514. The PAL version of the new PS3 will be a little bit different while 500GB model remains the same the 250GB will come as a 12GB flash memory model. Users that buy the 250GB model will be able to upgrade the console to HDD, but at the expense of losing 12GB of internal storage along the way.

Only 4 days were needed for Fifa 13 to reach 875,000 copies preordered. Officially the preorders started on September 13th and now EA Sport's has come out with some impressive numbers. This is a pretty solid increase comparing to preorders from last year. It is a jump of 37% in Europe and 62% in North America. It looks like football (the real kind) is getting more and more attention in the US, both on video games and on the real pitch. EA also announced that the demo version released last week was downloaded 1.99 million times in first three days for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This is an increase of 29% from last year.

HTC has been sending out invites for their presentation happening tomorrow. A few weeks ago they were pretty mysterious about whole thing. There have been much speculation about what will they release and the current consensus is a new Windows 8 devices. Today they decided to give a hint via their Facebook page, in the form of a picture that shows what appears to be a corner of the device they will announce. It is possible the device could be The HTC 8x a.k.a. HTC Accord. We have had a few leaks on this new device with several pictures, but nothing is yet confirmed.

Gottfrid Svartholm has been detained for a tax hack over at a Swedish IT company Logica. Previous rumors ended up being true in this case and he was indeed accused of taking part in hacking Logica and leaking thousands of tax numbers. He was arrested in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. He was taken captive there and was extradited back to Sweden last Monday. According to laws, since his visa was expired, he could have chosen to stay in Cambodia if he wanted or go back, but authorities didn’t give him any choice.
